Dra. Amaya Ramirez

Dr. Ramirez de Olano graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Navarra in 1995. He is a specialist in Medical Oncology since 2001, after training at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona.

After specialization and at the same hospital she was in charge of the Genetic Counseling Clinic and deputy responsible for upper digestive tract tumors clinic until 2003.
From that date is part Dr.Bellmunt Cancer Institute, whose team has worked with the Onco-Hematology Department of Quirón Barcelona from 2003 to 2007. She then continued her medical activity in the same group at Teknon Cancer Institute, linking back to Quirón Dexeus Group where she works currently (Dexeus Hospital). She has collaborated in the development of Genetic Counseling Guidelines of Catalonia, and has been part of several publications and communications to congresses.

Her main area of ??work has focused on the treatment of patients with breast and gynecologic cancer. She also devotes much of her interest to genetic counseling and cancers with familial association, as well as the screening of candidates for genetic counseling. She is currently Head of the Cancer Genetic Counseling in Hereditary Predisposition and coordinator of Hospital areas and Oncology Unit workups.
